The Salvation Army of Chattanooga hosted their Job Fair

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Salvation Army of Chattanooga hosted their Job Fair today that gave job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with a variety of local employers.

It was free to the public and free to attend, where job seekers had the opportunity to meet with a variety of local employers including Walmart, HomeServe, East Tennessee State University, Labor Finders, Surge, Wilkins Research Services, American Job Center Tennessee, and The Salvation Army.

Staff offered a Prep Class prior to the event where attendees were able to learn valuable skills such as interview tips and resume building.

Angela Daniels, the Case Manger Specialist at the Salvation Army says, “I’m very thankful for the employees that said yes, and they came out to support this event. This event really means a lot to me, knowing that I may have something to do with making a difference in people’s lives.”

The staff created a warm and welcoming environment for everyone, as they ushered people in, to help get them set up with their future job.

They encourage everyone who is in need to come to the Salvation Army, so their needs can be met in a comfortable, judgment freeway.

Malek Dillard, a local receiver says, “Don’t be afraid to ask, because they don’t like the situation, you’re in, as much as you don’t like it. And they’re not shy to help out.”

With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, the Salvation Army will have plenty of events coming up in the next few weeks, so make sure you keep checking back.
