CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Salvation Army will be delivering over 400 meals on Thanksgiving day to senior citizens in Chattanooga.

The meals will be given those considered “shut ins,” or those who live in towers and who are unable to leave.

Volunteers will be handing out the meals Thanksgiving morning.

“It is very important to us that we make sure we are serving everyone in the community who needs help. A lot of times, our senior citizens are overlooked even though they are a vulnerable population,”

Major Douglas McClure said.

The volunteers will gather at The Salvation Army at 9 a.m. to load their cars up with meals and desserts.

The meals will then be delivered to the senior living towers who have signed up.
