Chattanooga Theatre Centre interim Executive Director

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Theatre Centre named Kim Jackson interim Executive Director Wednesday.

Jackson has served the past two years as president of the Centre’s board of directors.

Jackson temporarily steps into the position formerly held by George Quick.

Quick resigned in July.

“Kim was the obvious choice for this position,” said board vice president, Jim Kennedy. “During her two years as president of the board, she became intimately aware of and involved in the operations of the theatre, and she has been a steady presence there since George’s departure. As a veteran volunteer, she has the trust and respect of the CTC staff and volunteer base, and she is highly regarded by the CTC’s patrons and sponsors,” he added.

Jackson said she was “honored to be asked and delighted to say yes.” Adding, “the theatre is obviously close to my heart, and I am very optimistic about our future.”

With the interim position filled, the board will turn its attention to the search for the permanent executive director.

Board members are currently in the process of identifying the combination of community and CTC leaders to compose the search group.

Jackson is not, nor will she be, a candidate for the permanent position.

The Chattanooga Theatre Centre launches its 93rd season with Fiddler on the Roof, opening on September 9.
