Thomas the Train Event Brings Family Fun

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Day Out with Thomas brought families to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum for a seasonal train-themed event built around a real excursion ride experience. 

Visitors had the chance to ride behind Thomas the Tank Engine as the train traveled along the museum’s railroad tracks, offering a hands-on look at one of the most recognizable characters in children’s entertainment brought to life on a working rail line.

The experience extended beyond the train ride, with the museum grounds set up with themed activity areas, photo opportunities, and interactive play spaces designed for children and families. 

Guests were able to explore the rail yard before and after their ride, turning the event into a full-day family outing centered around trains and rail history.

The event is part of the museum’s seasonal lineup and continues to draw families each year looking for a unique experience that blends entertainment with real railroad operations. 

The combination of excursion rides and on-site activities has made Day Out With Thomas one of the museum’s signature family attractions.
