Three cats lost in Soddy Daisy mobile home fire

Soddy Daisy, TN (WDEF) – Dallas Bay Volunteer Firefighters responded to a 911 call of a mobile home on fire on Flintshire Lane Sunday morning.

Smoke and fire were reported to be coming from the back.

Fire officials say the parents were out of town, but their son was taking care of the cats.

He came by to feed the cats and noticed smoke and fire coming from the back of the refrigerator.

He kicked in the door to put out the fire, but unfortunately it ventilated the fire.

It spread quickly through the house.

The three cats died in the fire, but no people were hurt.

The cause is accidental; damages were $35,000.
