Tide Coaches Not Afraid to Seek Advice on Ohio State
The Alabama football team held their first workout in New Orleans on Sunday as they prepare to face Ohio State in the college football playoffs on Thursday night.
This will be the Tide’s first matchup against a Big Ten team this season.
So the Bama staff has called upon coaches who have played the Buckeyes.
Defensive coordinator Kirby Smart says that’s a common practice, adding there’s really no conference loyalty.
"Coaches talk. Beyond what you believe. Coaches that are friends talk. That’s what friends do. Loyalties lie in coaching and not necessarily within conferences. We’re going to do what we do defensively. We’re not going to go get ideas from somebody else. There are no secrets to this game. You’ve got to block. You’ve got to tackle. You’ve got to be physical. You’ve got to be fast. That’s what we hope to do."
