Titans 2021 Schedule Features Three Prime Time Games
(titansonline.com) NASHVILLE, TENN. – The NFL released the 2021 regular season schedule, and the Titans will be featured in three primetime contests, hosting the defending AFC East champion Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, a Sunday Night Football contest at the Los Angeles Rams and a Thursday Night Football home tilt against San Francisco. The Titans will open the season at home against the Arizona Cardinals on September 12.
“I know this is a fun day for our fans, team and organization as we get ready for football this fall,” said Mike Vrabel, Titans Head Coach. “We understand how critical each game is on our schedule and there will certainly be difficult stretches each season because of injuries, opponents and travel.
“We are excited our fans get to experience a couple of home prime time games and our players certainly feed off the fans’ energy. We will be opening at home for the first time since I became head coach and I am happy our fans will be there to kick off the season with us.”
The Titans full nine-game home schedule includes contests against Arizona, Buffalo, Kansas City, Miami, New Orleans, San Francisco, Jacksonville, Houston and Indianapolis.
Tennessee will travel to the Los Angeles Rams, New England, New York Jets, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Houston, Jacksonville and Indianapolis.
Flexible scheduling may be applied in Weeks 5-17. During that period, flexible scheduling can be used by the NFL by shifting a Sunday afternoon game into primetime and moving the Sunday night game to an afternoon start time.
For Week 18, the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to Jan. 9. The NFL schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 18, but an afternoon game with playoff implications could be moved to that time slot.
Additionally, the Titans preseason opponents were set with a home game against Chicago (8/28) and away games at Atlanta (8/13) and Tampa Bay (8/21).
