Titans Hope For Better Luck Against Houston QB DeShaun Watson

It’s a fight for first when the Titans host the Texans on Sunday.
It’s also a pretty good quarterback battle.
Tennessee’s Ryan Tannehill has set the NFL on fire since replacing Marcus Mariota, and then there’s Houston’s dual threat beast DeShaun Watson.
He has been nothing but a huge headache for the Titans.

For whatever reason, the Titans bring out the best in DeShawn Watson. In three games against Tennessee, Watson has 800 yards passing with eight touchdowns.
Said Titans safety Kevin Byard:”It’s probably one of the better things he does is just his escapability from the pockets. He doesn’t escape the pocket to go run. He escapes to go look down the field and try to throw a 60-yard bomb”
Said safety Logan Ryan:”I mean he does things you can’t teach. He has a lot of God-given talent. One of the top quarterbacks in the league. Luckily we have played some top ones like (Patrick) Mahomes to go off of so.”
Said defensive coordinator Dean Pees:”You normally you are thinking a play is going to be four or five seconds, and that’s about it, but it may not be with him. It might be a lot longer than that. The things of it is if he gets out, you just can’t leave your guy because it will end up being a big one.”
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel knows all about Watson. He was on the Texans staff when they drafted Watson in 2017.
Said Vrabel:”You come across people in life that are special that make an impact on other people. I would say that DeShaun is one of those people. For being as young as he is, I know that I learned things from him.”
The Titans defense may not be special, but they’re pretty good. They’ve allowed only two opponents to get at least three touchdowns in a game.
Watson:”I mean they run to the ball. They create a lot of turnovers. Score on defense which is huge for them, and they are going to be juiced up.”
Talk about juice. The Titans offense has been juiced since quarterback Ryan Tannehill took over. He’s 6-1 as a starter, and he has the best passer rating in the NFL, and he’s the reigning AFC player of the week after torching Oakland for 391 yards passing.
Said Tannehill:”You get into December football. Comes down to this every year across the league is who can be the best at the end of the season. Who can be the best in December on into January. Like I said, we are on the right path. Just have to keep our heads down and keep working and get ready for the next one.”
