TN House member files 14 civil rights complaints against DCS
Tennessee House member Aftyn Behn has filed 14 civil rights complaints against the state Department of Children’s Services.
The filings include issues in Hamilton, Bradley and Grundy counties.
They have six problems in common including sexual assault, children with disabilities, and retaliation against parents who filed complaints.
Representative Behn says the families did everything right, but DCS retaliated against them.
She is asking for a federal investigation and a plan to protect families who report misconduct.
