TN National Guard identifies two killed in helicopter crash

Daniel Wadham and Danny Randolph were killed in the accident

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WDEF) — The Tennessee National Guard identified the two pilots killed in Wednesday’s helicopter crash. They said the accident happened during a training flight near Highway 53 in Madison County.

Those killed in the crash were Chief Warrant Officer 3 Daniel Wadham and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Danny Randolph. Wadham was from Joelton and Randolph was from Murfreesboro.

The National Guard said Wadham served 15 years and Randolph served 13 years.

The accident involved a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter.

Officials said the helicopter was approaching the Huntsville Executive Airport. It then rapidly descended and hit the ground.

Brig. Gen. Warner Ross is Tennessee’s Adjutant General. In response to the incident, he said, “Words cannot express my sorrow for the loss of these two Tennessee National Guardsmen. It is felt not only within the ranks of the Tennessee National Guard, but across our entire military community. We ask that Tennesseans continue to join us in prayer for these soldiers’ families amid this tragic loss.”

He also said no one else was injured from this accident.

Authorities are still investigating the incident. The Tennessee National Guard said they will give more information as it is available.
