CPD names suspect in fatal bar stabbing

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police has identified two suspects they believe were involved in a fatal bar stabbing early Tuesday morning.

Johnathan Paul Harvey, 27, and William Matthew Harvey, 25, are wanted in connection to the death of 36-year-old Shawn Russell at Rumors Bar on Hixson Pike.

According to the bar manager, Russell and his girlfriend were sitting at a table when another man started yelling obscenities about a clover on Russell’s shirt.

“He got on top of him, and was punching him. Then, we got ’em apart, and then he went back for more, and I guess that’s when he got stabbed on his left side.”

Bar goers say Russell got up, ran for the backdoor, and collapsed before taking his last breath.
