Tornado Damage Confirmed in Whitfield County

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF)- It’s confirmed….the storms that tore through North Georgia this week did produce tornadoes.

The National Weather Service says an EF-1 tornado hit Whitfield County Wednesday morning.

Whitfield and Murray county residents reported damage early on from the 60-mile an hour winds.

The 2500 block of Cleveland Highway in Dalton received the brunt of the storm, with numerous trees down.

No serious injuries were reported.
