Track and oil on bike course during the Ironman competition

WALKER COUNTY, GA (WDEF) There were tacks thrown on the road and oil spills on portions of the bike course of the Little Debbie Ironman Competition.

Some bikers did suffer flat tires but no injuries reported.

Ironman Course Director, Brian Myrick, said they worked through the problem and got it resolved.

"We had a few isolated incidents down on our bike course on the south part of the course, they were just that isolated," said Myrick. "We had great corporation with the State of Georgia, Walker County Emergency Services who responded quickly. Yeah it’s unfortunate, we had [these] few little things, but I think we managed it the best we could."

Walker County is investigating the incident.
