Traffic Alert: Avoid I-24 West at Germantown Road This Weekend

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Drivers are being urged to avoid I-24 West at Germantown Road (Exit 183) this weekend due to major detours and closures.

According to a tweet from TDOT, contract crews will be detouring I-24 West traffic onto North Terrace just past the Belvoir Avenue bridge, then routing it back onto I-24 West at Germantown Road.

Key closures include:

North Terrace will be closed to through traffic at Belvoir Avenue.

Germantown Road will be shut down between the I-24 West entrance ramp and the I-24 East exit ramp.

A new I-24 West entrance ramp will open near Marlboro Avenue.

I-24 East traffic will not be affected by the changes.

Drivers should expect delays and plan alternate routes if possible.
