Trenton celebrates the life of Emerson Crane

TRENTON, Ga. (WDEF) — The life of a young boy is bringing a local community together.

Funeral services were held Saturday for Emerson Crane, and once again people came out to show their support.

It’s easy to spot the color purple in Trenton.

Purple ribbons, purple balloons and people are wearing the color too.

Locals line the street and released balloons as the hearse carrying 10-year-old Emerson Crane drives by.

Emerson passed away after battling a brain tumor since birth.

In August, and before he passed away, the community came together to put on a Disney parade just for the Emerson.

“It was a itty-bitty tiny idea. It became about a 9 day period. These people are amazing and I’m blown away,” said Volunteer Coordinator Tara Page back in August.

That event drew out some two thousand people.

“It was pretty great, great. Emerson is so thrilled. Our whole community came together to support us. It makes my heart explode,” Emerson’s mom said of the August parade.

Some that came to show support today call Emerson an inspiration.

A young boy that’s left a lasting impression on the community.
