Trial date set for student involved in East Ridge altercation
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF)- A trial date has been set for a former East Ridge student involved in a viral fight with a school resource officer.
Tauris Sledge is facing two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Sledge was a student at East Ridge High School when the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says after refusing to participate in class activities, they attempted to escort him out of that class.
Bystander video showed deputy Tyler McRae getting into a physical altercation with Sledge.
Sledge has since countersued the HCSO.
His trial date was set for November 19th.
