Trion Softball Team Wins State Tournament Opener 3-2 in 8 Innings

Columbus, GA-(WDEF) The Trion softball team won their Class A state tournament opener on Thursday morning in Columbus, Georgia.
They beat Marion County 3-2 in 8 innings.
The game was tied at two following the 7 innings of regulation play.
In the top of the 8th, Josie Maddux singled past third to score Linzie Thompson to make it 3-2.
Then in the bottom of the 8th, the Bulldogs got a strike’em out, throw’em out double play to end the game.
Trion was scheduled to face rival Gordon Lee in their next game at 7pm on Thursday.
