Truck Flips on I-24, Sends Two to Hospital

The red pickup truck that rolled over Sunday afternoon on I-24 westbound, snarling traffic.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Traffic came to a screeching halt this afternoon in Chattanooga.

Around 1:45 p.m., a crash occurred on I-24 westbound near mile marker 181, or near the intersections with 4th Avenue and 23rd Street.

Chattanooga Police say that a red pickup truck suddenly lost control and hit the concrete median, causing it to flip.

Two people, an adult and child were able to crawl out of the vehicle while a third occupant was later freed by emergency responders.

Two of the three occupants were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for several traffic violations.
