Tuscaloosa Police: Teacher in custody after inappropriately touching 5 girls
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa police say a City of Tuscaloosa teacher is in custody after investigators discovered he inappropriate touched five female students between 13 and 17.
According to Lt. Teena Richardson, 32-year-old Jarvis Lanier allegedly touched the victims during track practice at Central High School Football Field House during the months of February to April of 2016.
Lanier was employed with the City of Tuscaloosa School System as a teacher at Central Elementary Primary School and Track Coach at Westlawn Middle School for two years.
Lanier is charged with five counts of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19. His bond will be set at $30,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
