UPDATE: Two dead in Dunlap house fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has released the identity of one of the victims from this morning’s fatal house fire in Dunlap.

The TBI identified one of the male victims as Andrew Gardner. He was 20 years old.

The second male victim has not yet been identified.


CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a fatal house fire that occurred  Saturday morning in Dunlap.

According to officials with the TBI, the fire happened before dawn on Houston Street and emergency personnel found the two male victims deceased upon arriving at the scene.

TBI officials say that one victim has been identified, but his ID is being withheld pending family notification. The other victim has not yet been identified.

TBI officials also say the bodies are being sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Nashville for autopsies.

The TBI, Commerce and Insurance Fire Investigative Services, Dunlap Police Department, Dunlap Fire Department and the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire and the circumstances of the two deaths.
