Two Die in Fatal Fire in McMinn County

Niota, TN (WDEF) – TBI fire investigators are in McMinn County trying to determine what caused a fatal fire early Wednesday morning. It happened on County Road 361 near Niota. Two people died. The McMinn County Sheriff’s Department along with several volunteer rural fire departments were on the scene.

Area residents were asked to avoid the area Wednesday due to the ongoing investigation.

Sheriff Joe Guy posted on social media, “Our thoughts and prayers are with all responders and the family of the deceased.”
