Two Suspects at Large for Carjacking in Collegedale
(WDEF) – Collegedale officers say the two suspects in this incident may be related to another carjacking recently in Chattanooga.
But, as of now, police have limited information on this one and they have turned to the public for help.
A Thursday evening carjacking started with an online search to buy a gun.
Mark Hullender of Hixon, says he found an offer to sell a gun online at armslist.com.
He arranged a meeting around 8:30 p.m. that evening at the Walmart in Collegedale.
When Hullender arrived at Walmart, he met one person who got into the passenger side of Hullender’s vehicle.
After the man collected the money, things began to go wrong.
“…that’s when one of the suspects went ahead and put him at gunpoint and told him to step out of his vehicle,” said Tonya Sadler.
Hullender says the two got away with his car, a Mossberg 590 shotgun, 25 shells, $340 in cash, his drivers license, and the gun he just tried to purchase.
“It was a ’97 green Lexus with a Tennessee tag of 0C78H5,” said Sadler.
Sadler says the suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
Hullender escaped with no injuries.
