TWRA: Dayton man dies in jet ski accident
DAYTON, Tenn. (WDEF) — Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says a 24-year-old Dayton man has died in a jet ski accident.
According to the TWRA, it happened on Chickamauga Lake shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday night.
The agency says the man was operating the jet ski after dark and was headed from a nearby area with another person on a second jet ski.
Authorities with TWRA, the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office, and Rhea County EMS responded to the lake near Double S Road.
TWRA says it is illegal to operate a jet ski after dark as jet skis are not equipped with proper lighting for night time use.
The incident is under investigation.
