U-Haul driver fled scene after crashing on Lee Highway
UPDATE: 75 customers lost power as result of the crash this morning.
Witnesses say that there was a man and a woman who fled the scene after the crash.
A witness, David Hopkins, said that the woman, “had a pretty big laceration in the middle of her forehead. She wasn’t all the way there. You can tell she was shaken up and was looking for belongings in there. Pretty obvious they were on something.”
Lee Highway has been shut down from Aken Road to Airport Road to allow EPB crews to replace the damaged power line.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A driver lost control of a U-Haul truck and crashed Tuesday morning, leaving a huge mess on Lee Highway. Chattanooga Police said the two occupants of the U-Haul fled the scene.
The CPD said they still have not been located or identified.
Lee Highway between Aiken Drive and Airport Road are shut down due to the incident.
The crash site is being cleared, and the U-Haul truck has been towed away.
Power companies are working on restoring power. Power lines are down, and a pole is broken.
News 12 reporter Nick Hill witnessed debris from the U-Haul including needles.
