U.S. carries out more strikes on Iran

The U.S. military conducted a few additional strikes on military targets in Iran on Tuesday “to eliminate emerging threats,” a U.S. official confirmed to CBS News.

So far, the strikes have hit a small number of targets, according to the official.

U.S. Central Command said on social media the strikes are intended “to continue degrading Iranian capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”

It marks the fourth consecutive night of strikes on Iran. Monday night’s attacks included dozens of targets.
