Upcoming 5-11 years old Pfizer vaccine event

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF)- The Hamilton County Health Department, in partnership with Hamilton County Schools and One to One Health, will host another series of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination events for children ages 5-11.

These events are intended to administer both 1st and 2nd doses in the vaccination series.

Your child does not have to be a student of the Hamilton County School system to be eligible.

Hamilton county health department said this is an excellent way to protect not only kids but the people kids come in contact with.

This event is also focusing on making sure there is a good relationship between the kid and the doctor.

“We try to reduce the trepidation of the children coming in for the doctors, just for long-term well-being because if you’re afraid of the doctor with your child you’re probably going to maintain that into adulthood. So for this particular Saturday event, we’re running is our superhero event. Invite people to dress up in their favorite superhero outfit and that way it gives you a little boost and bravery to come in and get that vaccine,” said Novak.

They will happen on Saturday, December 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Health Department as well as Tuesday, December 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at East Ridge Elementary School.
