Upcoming construction-related road closures

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Department of Public Works, Transportation Division has provided some construction-related road closures taking place in the area from June 8 to June 12.

Locals should consider the following:

Farmstead Road

  • Farmstead Road between Hixson Pike and Little Sorrel Road will be closed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, June 8th, through Thursday, June 11th, for asphalt restoration.

Altamont Road

  • Altamont Road between Avalon Circle and High Point Drive will be closed for through traffic from Monday, June 8th, through Tuesday, June 23rd, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to repair stormwater infrastructure. The intersection of Altamont and Glenroy Ave will also be closed. Detours will be posted. Work is weather permitting.

501 N Crest Road

  • N Crest Road between Marshall Street and Portview Place will close Monday, June 8th, through Monday, July 6th, to repair the road base and replace concrete panels. This is a full closure and will not reopen until the project is completed. Detours will be posted; please plan for additional time while navigating the detour.

Grubb Road

  • Beginning Wednesday, June 10th, daily closures of Grubb Road will take place between HWY 153 and Lower Mill Road to repair a sewer trench settlement. Closures will occur between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.. Residents will have access to their homes with the assistance of on-site flaggers. This work is expected to last 2-3 weeks before progressing to Lower Mill Road. Work is weather permitting.
