UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in 1700 block of Market Street Shooting

UPDATE: A suspect has been arrested in connection with the that occurred on January 31, 2026 in the 1700 block of Market Street.

Adrien Cox is charged with Aggravated Assault and is currently in custody at the Walker County Jail, according to CPD.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Saturday evening at 9:12 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) responded to reports of a person shot on the 1700 block of Market Street.

According to CPD, when officers arrived on scene, they discovered a 51-year-old man, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a hospital by Hamilton County EMS.

CPD says that the victim was leaving a nearby location when another vehicle pulled alongside him.

After he exited his vehicle, he was shot.

As of right know they do not have a lot of information on the suspect.
