UT Cracking Down on Drunk Fans This Season

Knoxville (WDEF) – The new UT football season kicks off in Knoxville on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Neyland Stadium.

And campus police say they will respond this year to complaints about bad behavior at the game.

They remind fans that alcoholic beverages, cans, bottles and coolers are prohibited in Neyland Stadium.

Anyone coming into the stadium under the influence of alcohol can be ejected or arrested.

Chief Troy Lane is promising more enforcement this season.

"Increased complaints about unruly behavior, mostly regarding persons who have had too much to drink, have caused us to more aggressively address these issues. We want UT fans of all ages to enjoy the game in a family-friendly atmosphere," said Lane.
