UT President Randy Boyd Visits Cleveland High Schools to Promote Higher Education
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF)— University of Tennessee System President Randy Boyd visited Bradley-Central High School on Thursday as part of his statewide “Find Your Future” tour, encouraging students to pursue higher education and highlighting the value of a college degree.
Boyd spoke with students about opportunities available across the UT System, emphasizing scholarships, financial aid, and support programs designed to make college more accessible.
Bradley-Central Principal Patrick Spangler said the visit came at just the right time.
“This is just an incredible day for us,” Spangler said. “Earlier this month we celebrated College Application Week, where our seniors really started thinking about their next steps. Having President Boyd here, along with Dr. Bruce from UTC, was an opportunity to build on that momentum.”
The stop also aligned with Tennessee’s College Application Month, a statewide effort to help students explore their options for life after high school.
Micaleah Parker, College Access Counselor at Bradley-Central, said the visit made a big impact.
“This was another really exciting event for College Application Month in Tennessee,” Parker said. “We always welcome colleges that want to come and talk to our students, because it’s all about helping them cast a wide net and figure out the best place for their future.”
Boyd’s “Find Your Future” tour will continue with visits to high schools across Tennessee this fall, aiming to inspire students to see how a UT degree can transform their futures.
