UTC & Chattanooga State sign Dual Admission Agreement

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — UTC and Chattanooga State Community College met today and finalized a new deal that will benefit transfer students.

The Dual Admission deal will now allow students admitted to Chatt State to immediately be admitted to UTC.

Dr. Rebecca Ashford of Chatt State and Dr. Steven Angle of UTC signed the agreement this morning and gave Chatt State students a taste of UTC. Students could check out the different departments that will support their journey at UTC.

Chatt State students will have access to obtain a UTC ID, speak with advisors, and consult financial aid services before they transfer to UTC.

During the ceremony, Dr. Angle and Dr. Ashford also awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Devyn Johnson, a high achieving sophomore at Chatt State.

Johnson says she was shocked to learn of the scholarship, “I was so confused, I was shocked, but I was thankful that I’m having an impact here at Chattanooga State, and now I can go and make a bigger impact on UTC’s campus.”
