The Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine set the competition up in a bracket style tournament elimination. UTC is now in the third round.

UTC’s Outdoor Programming Staff claim their "focus is on students being able to go outside." Both students and alumni are able to join trips and rent outdoor equipment, from sleepingbags and tents to mountainbikes and stand-up paddle boards. As long as the equipment is returned on time and students come to the trips they signed up for, their deposit money is returned to them.
"We have tours showing the kids what we have or the potential students what we have to offer them, it’s a deciding factor for a lot of kids," says Dakota Crosslin, a sophomore at UTC.
