Valleybrook Golf Course to undergo renovations

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Valleybrook Golf Course and Country Club will soon be getting a facelift and more open access to the public.

Jimmy White, the President of Urban Story Ventures, who recently purchased the property, announced these upgrades at this month’s Friends of Hixson meeting Wednesday morning.

White said that upgrades to the clubhouse’s restaurant would be coming, which would detail an expansion that would open it up to non-members.

He also wants to build a community pool, tennis and pickleball courts, playgrounds and other needed maintenance to the golf course itself, much of it open to the public.

White said, “It was a bad state of affairs and there were discussions about it just going away and becoming a residential property, we don’t believe that is the best usage. We believe we have the opportunity here to bring a sense of community, bring back what I remember Valleybrook being.”

He also discussed Urban Story Ventures’ involvement in the One Westside project, as he mentioned a vote at the end of the month to determine if the TIF financing district is approved by the city of Chattanooga.
