Velocity 2040 is looking for leaders to improve Chattanooga’s future

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – An optimistic vision for Chattanooga and Hamilton County was presented this morning in the Walker Theatre in Memorial Auditorium.

The program is called, Velocity 20-40, and it aims to bring together leaders and citizens from all walks of life, to work on ways to make life better for everyone in the community.

A steering committee is made up of more than 50 people, who’ve been involved in the program.

They focused on ideas to improve Education, Infrastructure, Collaboration, Thriving and Leadership.

Christy Gillenwater of the Chattanooga Chamber says “From our standpoint of the Chamber’s work, we’ll continue to work on Chattanooga Climbs, which is all focused on jobs, and then, looking at our talent development pipeline, and aligning that with our job sector focus in the future.”

Organizers of the 20-40 program are urging all citizens to become involved.
