Verizon outage in the Chattanooga area

UPDATE (August 15, 2024):  The Verizon outage in Chattanooga has been restored.

“A fiber cut caused a disruption in service for some customers in Chattanooga. Engineers were able to identify and resolve the issue and service was restored by 1:15 AM ET,” said a Verizon spokesperson.

Residents in the Chattanooga area who were carriers of Verizon were having services troubles Wednesday, August 14, 2024.


CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  There’s a current Verizon outage in the Chattanooga Area.

Some residents are having trouble making phone calls and having good service.

IOS devices may even show the letters “SOS” where service bars normally are.

According to Verizon’s website, the network disruption began at 12:38 p.m.

They estimate restoration will take anywhere between 12 and 24 hours.
