Victim shot while in vehicle

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – At approximately 4:02 Sunday morning, the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a local hospital for a person shot. 

A female victim had arrived via personal vehicle at a local hospital for a gunshot wound. The victim, Erica Jones told CPD that she was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on 2900 Dotson Avenue. She stated that an unknown white SUV pulled behind the vehicle she was in and an unknown suspect opened fire.

The suspect fired multiple shots into the victim’s vehicle from the suspect vehicle and then fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. 

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it is available.
