Video: Residents Remember Longtime Chattanooga Pastor

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) –Tennessee Valley residents are remembering a longtime Chattanooga pastor.

Many gathered at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium Saturday morning to honor Bishop W.C. Hunter.

He founded the World’s Church of the Living God in Chattanooga in 1964.

Hunter’s television program was also seen here on News 12 on Sundays.

Residents prayed, sang, and reflected on the 80-year-old’s life of service.

“We loved him. We cherished him, and he will live in our hearts forever and ever. Amen.” 

Hunter was buried by his wife, Peggy, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.

Elder Alan Harrington will serve as acting pastor of the Chattanooga campus.
