Volkswagen Holds Job Fair: Searching For 1,000 New Employees

Saturday morning hundreds of individuals lined up outside of the Volkswagen plant for their chance at a new career with the car manufacturer.

The job fair was held in hopes of hiring 1,000 production workers. The significant increase in workers comes as the assembly plant expands the their facility for the upcoming electric vehicle manufacturing.

Burkhard Ulrich the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. He said he believes now is a great time to get in with Volkswagen as the electric vehicle market is booming.

“Exciting part of time to be part of Volkswagen. We are growing, we are building electric vehicles, like the ID 4 here in Chattanooga,” Ulrich said. “So everyone wants to be part of this great team, and its a great place to work”

For those who get selected – pay will begin at $24.40 an hour and will top out at $33 an hour
