Volkswagen Unveils 5 Seat SUV, Cross Coupe, Which May Be Built in Chattanooga
Volkswagen will pull the cover off of a new concept car later this morning that could be made in Chattanooga.
The German Automaker already plans to build a seven-seat S-U-V here by the end of next year.
But, VW may also add this five-seat mid-sized S-U-V to the production line too.
The Cross Coupe GTE uses a plug-in hybrid system with a maximum output of 355 horsepower.
In e-mode, the vehicle features zero tailpipe emissions up to 20-miles.
The front end of the Cross Coupe offers a new look, with its clear and logical line structure.
This sportier five-seat S-U-V could start production in Chattanooga as soon as 2017, if Volkswagen decides to make it.
