Vols Alvin Kamara Looking to Run Wild This Spring
When Alvin Kamara announced he was coming back for his senior season that meant Tennessee would return one of the best backfields in the SEC.
Kamara and Jalen Hurd gave the Vols a big one-two punch last season.
Kamara finished second behind Hurd in rushing last year running for 698-yards.
He was also one of the team’s top receivers with nearly 300-yards receiving in 2015.
Kamara was slowed by a minor knee issue at the start of spring.
But now he feels like he has a solid spring in his step.
Said Kamara: “Today, I kind of focused on my endurance. Just sprinting everywhere, running around the field, running for no reason really. At the break, I’m running from that side to all the way over there. Just working on getting in shape.”
Reporter: “How do you see him expanding his role this next season?”
Said quarterback Josh Dobbs: “Just anytime we can get the ball in his hands. You see the plays he makes. You know the first guy is always gonna miss him, so it’s on to the second and the third. So anytime we can get the ball in his hands, that’s what we want to do. We’re finding new ways to do that.”
