Vols Need to Play Like Former Veterans to Beat 4th Ranked Kentucky
The Vols basketball team returns to action Tuesday night as they entertain fourth ranked Kentucky.
While Tennessee is a big underdog, they did manage to upset the Cats last year in Knoxville.
The Vols won that game 84-77.
According to Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes, in order for UT to pull off a repeat performance, this year’s team will have to perform like a couple of veterans on last year’s squad.
Said Barnes:”Well I think about Kevin Punter and Armani Moore more than anybody because those two guys a year ago regardless of where we were at the time with our team and our program. Those guys competed. What they had is what we’re still searching for this team to have. Just a tremendous will to compete every possession.”
The Vols and Wildcats tip at 9pm from Thompson Boling Arena. Tennessee is still searching for their first win over a ranked team this season.
