Vols Receiver Vincent Perry Ruled Academically Ineligible

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee wide receiver Vincent Perry has been ruled academically ineligible for the upcoming season.

Tennessee athletic department spokesman Ryan Robinson announced Wednesday that Perry remained on the Volunteers’ roster and would practice with the team this fall but wouldn’t be eligible to play and wouldn’t be on scholarship. Robinson added that Perry “will have the opportunity to earn his scholarship back by his performance off and on the field.”

Perry, a redshirt freshman from Nashville, Tennessee, didn’t play at all last season after injuring his knee in training camp.
