Vols Sacks Leader Derek Barnett Leaving Tennessee Early For NFL Draft

Tennessee is losing their best defensive player to the NFL Draft.
Defensive end Derek Barnett is forgoing his senior season in order to turn pro.
He made the announcement on Twitter saying “It has been a great 3 years. I’m very thankful for getting the opportunity to play at Tennessee! Thank you for all the many memories.”
Barnett’s sack in the final moments against Nebraska in the Music City Bowl gave him the UT career sacks record at 33, breaking Reggie White’s old mark.
Barnett is expected to be a first-round pick.
