Volunteer Call: Plant Garlic for Crabtree Farms This Weekend

Chattanooga (WDEF) Not all Volunteering has to be a selfless act helping the down and out.

Sometimes, there is something in it for you besides the reward for Doing The Right Thing.

On Saturday, Crabtree Farms needs help planting next summer’s garlic crop.

They are asking for Volunteers from 9am-1pm to help the urban farmers just off of Rossville Boulevard.

In exchange, you’ll learn how to grow garlic for yourself.

And there will be a potluck lunch to celebrate afterwards.

This event is rain or shine.

Sign up by contacting Crabtree farms at ajaeger@crabtreefarms.org or at 423-493-9155, x13.

Each month, we honor local volunteers with our Do The Right Thing award.

We’ve got a new winner coming this week who has a real heart for local animals.

You can also nominate a local volunteer at the Do The Right Thing page at WDEF.com.
