Volkswagen to implement Car-Net vehicle emergency services

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Starting June 1, some Volkswagen vehicles will feature new Car-Net Safe & Secure vehicle emergency services.

The services will be at no additional cost for five years. It will be featured on most 2020 to 2023 models.

Gas-powered vehicles with Car-Net will include automatic crash notifications, emergency assistance, stolen vehicle locator and anti-theft alerts.

Electric vehicle models will include the automatic crash notifications and emergency assistance.

Volkswagen said the coverage will begin as soon as the owner creates a myVW account and accepts the Car-Net terms of service.

They said the coverage will be active for five years following the sale date or June 1, 2023, whichever is later.
