Walker Probate Court closed all week after SUV hits courthouse

The vehicle hit the bottom floor of the building early Saturday morning

LAFAYETTE, Georgia (WDEF) – The Probate Court in Walker County will close all week, thanks to a wreck over the weekend.

Around 1:45 AM on Saturday, a Chevy Trailblazer plowed into the Walker County Courthouse in LaFayette.

It his the decorative wall in front and then smashed into the bottom level of the building.

That’s where the Probate officers are.

Local building officials decided it “is not safe for Probate Court personnel to remain inside at this time.”
