Mayor Wamp announces two new county leadership roles

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp made two key changes within county government. He recently announced two leadership changes, featuring David Roddy and Lee Brouner.

Mayor Wamp named David Roddy as Hamilton County’s first Chief Operating Officer and Lee Brouner as the first Chief Financial Officer.

Roddy has previously served as Mayor Wamp’s special advisor for the last ten months. Prior to this, Roddy spent 26 years serving the Chattanooga Police Department, with four years as Chief of Police.

Brouner was previously the assistant county auditor prior to joining Hamilton County’s finance department. He now “oversees the county’s $300 million investment portfolio, nearly $1 billion budget and advises the mayor and county commission on all financial matters,” Wamp said in a statement.

Both Roddy and Brouner live in Hamilton County with their families.

Here is Wamp’s statement on the new leadership roles:

“Since taking office, I’ve tried to harness the dedication and knowledge of current county employees while also bringing a new approach to Hamilton County Government in order to best serve the citizens of our growing community. Naming David Roddy and Lee Brouner to these key leadership posts is the next step in our plans to modernize county government. David is one of our region’s most respected public servants, and county government will be strengthened by his operational expertise and deep understanding of our entire community. Lee Brouner has diligently served the taxpayers of this county for more than three decades, stewarding Hamilton County to a AAA bond rating and earning the trust of his fellow department heads. I’m grateful they have stepped up to continue to lead Hamilton County.”

Both Roddy and Brouner also say they are excited about their new roles in the county’s government.

Wamp will soon have held the mayoral role in Hamilton County for one year.
