Washington Nationals Take Ringgold’s Matthew Crownover in the MLB Draft

The Washington Nationals took Ringgold native Matthew Crownover in the 6th round of the MLB Draft on Tuesday. He was the 194th overall pick. Crownover just finished up his third season at Clemson where the left-handed pitcher was named the ACC Pitcher of the Year after winning 10 games. Last year, Crownover was taken in the 21st round of the draft by San Francisco, but he elected to return to Clemson.
