Water line blow out shuts down part of Dalton Bypass
DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – A water main break in Dalton has shut down one of the busiest intersections in the area.
Dalton Utilities reports that a water line blew last night.
It happened on the north side of the Chatsworth Highway and Dalton Bypass intersection.
The rupture caused significant damage to the road.
UPDATE!!! Please continue to find an alternate route. We’re hoping to have the main fully repaired by late tonight. Prep work has begun to repave the rd. Work is progressing smoothly, so we aim to have Chatsworth Hwy reopened by late Wed. afternoon. We appreciate your patience.

West bound traffic from Chatsworth is being rerouted on Highway 286.
Dalton Utilities is still fixing the water main, and then crews will be able to repair damage to the road.
They are hoping to reopen it before Thanksgiving.
