City Council unanimously approves City Budget

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga City Council unanimously approved the City Budget Tuesday for 2016-2017.

The budget will help make investments in neighborhoods, workforce development, public safety, and education, all without a tax increase.

The budget will also fund a growing Baby University, new early learning scholarships, and an Office of Early Learning to coordinate efforts to provide support for families in need.

Investments in technology, such as security cameras, will go towards the development of a Real Time Intelligence Center, in addition to enhanced efforts to fight domestic violence through the reorganization of the Special Victims’ Unit and growth of the Family Justice Center.
